Chess Tournament
The TOPS Tournament will be held at TOPS, Saturday April 7. This tournament is open to all students from TOPS who wish to compete, not just members of TOPS Chess Club.
We do need to know who will be participating and so request that you return this form with the information filled in to the TOPS Chess mailbox in the office, or send an email to TOPSChess@yahoogroups.com with the same information.
Chess Club
Chess club meets from 3:30 to 4:30 in the cafeteria, starting on Monday, Oct. 2. The instruction ranges from basic piece movement to advanced strategy. All in the TOPS community are welcome.
Tuition is $110 for Chess Club. This fee helps provide quality instruction, T-shirts, homework exercises, and snacks. This fee does not completely cover all costs to run Chess Club at TOPS. The majori9ty of our funding comes from the annual chess tournament hosted by TOPS.
TOPS chess only works with the help of parents. If your child participates in Chess Club you will be expected to attend 1 session per semester and help run the TOPS chess tournament in March.
